Audio Radar Compatibility with Headsets
Many gamers ask about the compatibility of Audio Radar with headsets, both wired and wireless. This guide explains how to set up your headset alongside Audio Radar on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation, addressing system-specific considerations and limitations.
General Compatibility
- Audio Radar works with both wired and wireless headsets
- Setup varies depending on your system
- Some platforms, like PlayStation, have built-in audio limitations
Wired Headsets
- Plug your headset into the 3.5mm port on the front of the Audio Radar Command Center or directly into your PC.
- Ensure Audio Radar is set as the default audio output in Windows sound settings.*
- Enable 7.1 surround sound in your Windows audio settings for the best performance.
Wireless Headsets
- Connect your headset to your PC as usual (Bluetooth or USB).
- Game audio will still be sent to Audio Radar via HDMI.
Advanced Setup for Audio Routing
PCs do not natively split audio across multiple devices.
To output sound to both your headset and Audio Radar simultaneously, we recommend using a free software called Voicemeeter Banana.

*If Audio Radar does not appear as an available output device, it may require a firmware update.

Wired Headsets
Use your headset as usual, plugging it into your Xbox controller.
Connect the Xbox to the Audio Radar Command Center via HDMI.
Ensure Xbox outputs game audio through HDMI while using the headset for chat.
Wireless Headsets
- Pair your headset with Xbox normally via Bluetooth or USB.
- Make sure game audio is routed through HDMI to Audio Radar.

Important Compatibility Note - Chat Audio Limitation
Most PlayStation setups limit the ability to output game audio to both Audio Radar and a headset simultaneously. If a headset is connected and chat audio is enabled, the headset will receive only chat audio, while game audio is sent exclusively to Audio Radar. This is a limitation of the PlayStation’s audio settings, not Audio Radar itself.
Workarounds may require external audio solutions, such as HDMI audio extractors. For the best experience with your setup, refer to the
PlayStation Setup Guide for possible solutions.
Wired Headsets
- Plug your headset into the PlayStation controller.
- Connect the PlayStation to the Audio Radar Command Center via HDMI.
Wireless Headsets
- Connect your wireless headset to the PlayStation.
- Game audio will go through HDMI to Audio Radar, but chat audio may require additional configuration.
Troubleshooting
No Audio or Visual Response? Try These Fixes:
- Check all cable connections to ensure they are securely inserted.
- Verify your audio output settings on your device.
- For wireless headsets, confirm that they are properly paired and that the correct audio output is selected.
- For PC users needing dual audio output, ensure Voicemeeter is configured correctly.
