Audio Radar Display Compatibility Guide: Supported Monitors, TVs, and Displays

Audio Radar Display Compatibility: Supported Monitors, TVs, and Screen Sizes

1. General Compatibility

Audio Radar is designed to work with a wide range of displays, including flat, curved, OLED, and ultra-thin monitors and TVs. To ensure proper mounting and optimal performance, the minimum recommended screen size is 24 inches (60.96 cm). This size allows the light bars to be spaced appropriately around the screen without overlapping or crowding.

While larger screens offer a more immersive visual field for Audio Radar, even standard gaming monitors meet the baseline compatibility requirements.

Supported display types:

  • Flat monitors (24" and larger)

  • Curved monitors

  • OLED screens (with L-Bracket Kit)

  • Ultra-thin displays (with L-Bracket Kit)

  • TVs up to 85" (see extended compatibility below)

2. Resolution & Refresh Rate Support

Audio Radar includes built-in video passthrough support for modern high-performance gaming standards:

  • Up to 4K resolution at 120Hz

  • Up to 8K resolution at 60Hz

This ensures no noticeable performance loss when routing your video signal through the Command Center. If your system supports higher refresh rates or resolutions than these limits, you can bypass the passthrough limitation using a dual-output configuration:

Dual Output Setup:

  • Connect one HDMI/DisplayPort output directly to your monitor or TV.

  • Connect a second output to the Audio Radar Command Center.

This allows you to maintain ultra-high refresh rates on your primary display while still feeding the Audio Radar full 7.1 surround sound. Learn more >

3. Screen Size Fit & Cable Length

Each Audio Radar kit includes coiled 3.5mm audio cables designed to reach around monitors and TVs up to 65 inches in size. The light bars are intended to be spaced evenly across the top, sides, and bottom of your display for full 360-degree spatial representation.

Included cable length:

  • Coiled cables expand up to 22 inches (55.88 cm), enabling flexible placement for screens up to 65".

For most users, the included cables will accommodate common gaming setups.

4. Solutions for Larger TVs (Over 65")

Gamers using TVs larger than 65 inches, such as 75" or 85", may find the included cables too short to space the light bars evenly. There are two options to ensure full compatibility:

Option 1: Add a Dedicated 7th Center Channel Light Bar

  • Installed between the front left and right light bars, the additional light bar helps bridge the distance without needing longer cables.

  • Useful for ultra-wide screens where front bar spacing is disproportionate.

  • Enhances directional precision by providing a dedicated “on-target” visual cue for sounds directly in front of you—ideal for competitive FPS games or immersive experiences.

Option 2: Replace Coiled Cables with Longer 3.5mm TRS Cables

  • Look for high-quality, 3-conductor (TRS) 3.5mm audio cables.

  • Recommended length: 36" to 48" depending on screen size.

  • Be cautious: Third-party accessories are not covered under warranty.

AlertAirdrop Gaming does not currently sell longer cables. Damage caused by unsupported accessories may void your warranty.

5. Mounting Considerations

For OLED or ultra-thin displays, traditional mounting with the included adhesive may not provide enough surface area or security. In these cases, we recommend using the Audio Radar L-Bracket Kit:

  • Best suited for displays with less than ½-inch bezels, where adhesive strips alone may not hold.

  • Allows secure placement of light bars behind or above the screen bezel.

  • Potential solution for displays with rounded or beveled edges that do not provide a flat surface for mounting.

Available as an accessory in the Audio Radar store.

7. Final Recommendations

Before purchasing, consider the following:

  • Display size: 24” to 65” is ideal out of the box.

  • Passthrough limits: For 4K120Hz or 8K60Hz max. Use dual-output if needed.

  • Mounting hardware: Use the L-Bracket Kit for OLED and ultra-thin displays.

  • Expanded setups: For larger TVs, add a 7th light bar or use longer cables.
