Is Audio Radar Compatible with Your Console or PC? | Platform Guide

Is Audio Radar compatible with all gaming consoles and PCs?

Yes, Audio Radar is compatible with most gaming consoles and PCs, though some platforms offer more customization options than others.

Console & PC Compatibility Overview

PC (Most Customization & Advanced Features)
  1. Full customization & advanced routing options.
  2. Allows separating audio sources (e.g., Discord, Xbox Game Bar Chat, Spotify) to prevent unnecessary light activation. Learn more >
  3. Supports Voicemeeter and SteelSeries GG for enhanced audio management.

 Mac & Linux Compatibility Note:
  1. Mac: While Audio Radar can function on Mac, we have not conducted extensive testing for Mac users who need multiple audio outputs. Additionally, Voicemeeter is not currently available for macOS, so an alternative audio routing software may be required.
  2. Linux: Audio Radar has not been extensively tested on Linux, and compatibility may vary based on the audio management system and drivers used. Users may need to explore alternative audio routing solutions.
Xbox (Full Compatibility & Customization)
  1. Works seamlessly with full customization options.
  2. Prevents Xbox Party Chat from triggering the light bars.
  3. No console-based limitations—all Audio Radar features are fully functional.

PlayStation (Limited Customization Due to System Restrictions)

PlayStation has a system limitation that prevents game audio from being sent to both a headset and Audio Radar at the same time. This means:
  1. If party chat plays through your headset, game audio will only output through TV speakers or external speakers.
  2. If both game audio and party chat play through external speakers, Audio Radar may pick up voices as in-game sounds, leading to false positives.
Solutions to Enable Game Audio in Both Headset & Audio Radar:
  1. HDMI Audio Extractor – Allows simultaneous audio output to both Audio Radar and a headset (requires a Toslink Digital Optical Audio Cable).
  2. Astro A50 X Headset – Bypasses the PS5 limitation, enabling game audio and chat in both Audio Radar and the headset without additional hardware.
While PlayStation 5 offers fewer customization options compared to Xbox or PC, these hardware solutions help maintain full functionality.

Other Devices (HDMI-Compatible Systems)

Audio Radar works with any device that has an HDMI OUT port and supports:

  1. 7.1 Surround Sound (Best Performance) - All Light Bars activate
  2. 5.1 Surround Sound (Great Performance) - Top and Side Light Bars Activate
  3. 2.1 Stereo (Limited Experience) - Only Top Light Bars Activate for Basic Left & Right Sounds
Idea
For the best experience, ensure your device (and game) supports 7.1 or 5.1 surround sound!
