Best Games for Audio Radar | FPS, Survival, and Casual Game Compatibility

What kind of games work best with Audio Radar?

Audio Radar was originally designed with First-Person Shooters (FPS) in mind, where precise directional audio cues—such as footsteps, gunfire, and explosions—can give players a competitive advantage. However, its immersive sound-to-light technology also enhances gameplay across various genres, from survival games to casual sandbox experiences.

Best Game Types for Audio Radar

First-Person Shooters (FPS) – Tactical Precision

Games that rely on spatial awareness and enemy positioning benefit the most from Audio Radar’s real-time sound visualization. With games that support 7.1 surround sound, Audio Radar can accurately detect and display directional cues, helping players react faster in high-stakes combat situations.

Survival & Open-World Games – Immersive Exploration

Survival and open-world games emphasize environmental awareness, making Audio Radar an excellent tool for tracking threats and resources. Whether monitoring enemy movement in the wild or detecting environmental hazards, visualizing sound cues enhances immersion and strategy.
Notes
Pro Tip: If the game’s audio settings allow it, reducing background noise in survival games can help isolate critical sounds like player movement and wildlife alerts, improving situational awareness.

Casual & Sandbox Games – Fun & Creativity

While Audio Radar is optimized for competitive gaming, it also brings a new level of engagement to casual and sandbox experiences. Games like Minecraft and Roblox, where players explore, build, and engage with dynamic environments, are enhanced with visualized audio cues that make the world feel more interactive.

How Different Games Work with Audio Radar

Optimized for 7.1 Surround Sound

  1. Games that support 7.1 surround sound allow all six (or seven) light bars to individually detect and display sound cues, providing the most accurate visualization.

Works with 6.1 Surround Sound

  1. Even if a game doesn’t use a center channel, like PUBG for example, Audio Radar’s latest firmware update simulates a seventh bar, enhancing precision for 5.1 and 6.1 surround sound games.

Limitations with Stereo (2.1) Audio Games

  1. Some games only offer stereo (2.1) audio output and do not provide an option for 5.1 or 7.1 surround sound. In these cases, Audio Radar will still function but be limited to detecting basic left and right sound cues only, meaning only the top light bars will activate.
Examples:
Escape from Tarkov and Counter-Strike 2 only use stereo (2.1) audio, so Audio Radar cannot provide full directional awareness.
✅ Games like Valorant, PUBG, and Call of Duty default to stereo sound but offer 7.1 surround sound in audio settings. Enabling 7.1 surround sound in these games unlocks full light bar activation.
Alert
Important Note: Audio Radar relies on game developers to implement full surround sound support. If a game does not support 5.1 or 7.1 surround sound, there is currently no workaround to make the side and rear light bars react. We encourage users to check in-game audio settings of their favorite titles to see if surround sound options are available.

Customizable for Any Game Type

  1. Adjusting light bar sensitivity, background noise settings, and game audio levels allows Audio Radar to adapt to different game genres and environments. Learn more in our Optimized Game Settings section.
