Alert

Before starting this guide, PC users should complete the Audio Radar Voicemeeter setup guide first. This helps make sure game audio, voice chat, and Audio Radar are routed correctly.

Follow this guide first: Voicemeeter Setup Guide for Audio Radar

In this guide, we’ll walk you through configuring Call of Duty: Warzone’s in-game audio settings for optimal Audio Radar performance. You'll learn step-by-step setup instructions, best practices for detecting enemy movement, and sensitivity adjustments to improve awareness in Battle Royale, Resurgence, and other Warzone modes.

Game-Specific Settings

Note: The steps and screenshots in this guide are based on PC settings, and console settings may vary slightly. While many of the recommendations apply across platforms, menu navigation and audio configuration options might differ on Xbox and PlayStation.

  1. From the Warzone lobby, select the Settings icon in the top right corner.

  2. Select the Audio option.

  3. Under the Audio tab, open Show More under the Volumes section.
  4. Adjust the following settings:
  • Set Gameplay Music Volume to 0.
  • Set Dialogue Volume to 0.
  • Leave Effects Volume at 100.
  • Set Cinematic Music Volume based on preference. This mostly affects cutscenes and non-gameplay moments.

  1. Under Audio Device, adjust the following settings:
  • PC Only: Set Speakers/Headphones Game Sound Device to Voicemeeter AUX Input (VB-Audio Voicemeeter VAIO).
  • Set Speaker Output to 7.1 Surround.
  • Set Enhanced Headphone Mode to Off.

InfoImportant: Enhanced Headphone Mode should stay off. This setting uses 3D headphone audio and can override 7.1 surround sound. When it is turned on, Audio Radar may only respond through the front light bars.

  1. Under the Global section, adjust the following settings:
  • Set Audio Mix to Home Theater.
  • Set Mono Audio to Off.
  • Set Asymmetrical Hearing Compensation to Off.

InfoImportant: Do not use Asymmetrical Hearing Compensation. This setting can override 7.1 surround sound and may cause Audio Radar to work in stereo mode.

  1. Go to the Voice Chat tab.
  2. For PC + Voicemeeter users, set Voice Chat Output Device to:

CABLE Input (VB-Audio Virtual Cable)

If you do not use voice chat, you can leave voice chat off.

For console users, voice chat audio may still appear on Audio Radar.

Configure Audio Radar for Call of Duty: Warzone

Fine-Tune Sensitivity

Warzone has large maps, distant gunfire, vehicles, killstreaks, and many overlapping sound cues. Start with Audio Radar sensitivity at a lower to medium level. This helps reduce constant light bar activity from distant action while keeping nearby threats easier to notice.

Use sensitivity to focus on the sounds that matter most, like nearby footsteps, reloads, parachutes, and close-range gunfire.

Use the three-zone sensitivity dials on the right side of the Command Center to control front, side, and rear sound detection.

  • Lower sensitivity in busy areas to reduce extra light activity from distant gunfire and explosions.
  • Increase sensitivity when moving through open areas or holding a building, so you can catch nearby footsteps and enemy movement.

Testing & Best Practices

Load into a Test Match

Use a private match, training area, or low-pressure match to test your settings. Move around different areas and watch how Audio Radar responds.

Focus on Critical Sounds

Key audio cues to prioritize in Warzone:

Footsteps – Detect enemies pushing, rotating, or moving inside buildings.

Parachutes – Notice enemies dropping back into the area.

Weapon Reloads – Spot nearby enemies who may be vulnerable.

Close-Range Gunfire – Identify where nearby fights are happening.

Vehicles – Track cars, trucks, and other vehicles approaching your position.

Iterate on Settings

Adjust sensitivity gradually based on what you see during gameplay.

If the light bars are too active, lower sensitivity.
If important sounds are not showing clearly, raise sensitivity slightly.

The goal is to make nearby threats easy to see without letting distant gunfire, explosions, or voice chat overwhelm Audio Radar.
