Troubleshooting Light Bar Issues

If you are experiencing issues with some Light Bars not illuminating, partially lighting, or flashing random colors, follow these initial troubleshooting steps.

Reset Audio Radar Command Center to Factory Settings

Step 1: Enter Standby Mode

  • Tap the POWER button on the Command Center once (or multiple times) until all lights on the Command Center turn off.
  • This indicates that the Command Center is in STANDBY MODE.

Step 2: Perform Factory Reset

  • Press and hold the round STREAM button on the Command Center for 10 seconds.

Step 3: Power On

  • The Command Center is now reset to its original factory settings and powered on, ready for further use or troubleshooting.
  • If the issue persists, proceed to the next section on cable checks.

Ensure All Cables Are Correctly Connected

If the cables are not connected in the correct order or not plugged in securely, this will cause the Light Bars to malfunction. Let’s ensure all the cables are properly connected.

Step 1: Disconnect Power

  • Unplug the power cable from the Command Center to turn off the system completely.

Step 2: Double-Check Wiring Order

  • Ensure the Light Bars are connected in the correct order:
    • The cables should be connected starting from the Command Center "LIGHTBAR OUT" port to Light Bar 1 “IN” port.
    • Continue clockwise around the monitor from facing the front of the monitor.
    • Incorrect wiring may prevent Light Bars from lighting up or responding properly.

Step 3: Unplug and Reconnect All Light Bar Cables

  • Starting from the Command Center, unplug and plug back in each Light Bar connection, one at a time.
  • Ensure the cable is fully inserted into both the “IN” and “OUT” ports of each Light Bar.
  • Double-check that each connection is pressed in securely to make good contact, all the way to the last Light Bar.

Step 4: Reconnect Power

  • Plug the power cable back into the Command Center to power it on. All Light Bars should glow green for 3 seconds.

Step 5: Test Stream Mode

  • After powering on the system, press the round STREAM button on the Command Center.
  • All Light Bars should illuminate white.

Troubleshooting One or More Light Bars Not Lighting

If one or multiple Light Bars do not light up, the potential causes could be:

  • A bad cable connection
  • A faulty cable feeding the malfunctioning Light Bar
  • A faulty Light Bar input
  • A faulty Light Bar output

Let’s continue troubleshooting.

A Bad Cable Connection

Symptoms: A Light Bar does not light up, but the Light Bars connected before it light up as expected.

Step 1: Disconnect Power
  • Unplug the power cable from the Command Center to turn off the system completely.
Step 2: Check the Connections
  • Unplug and plug back in the cable from the “IN” port of the malfunctioning Light Bar. Make sure it is securely connected.
  • Unplug and plug back in the cable from the “OUT” port of the Light Bar preceding the malfunctioning Light Bar.
Step 3: Reconnect Power
  • Plug the power cable back into the Command Center to power it on. All Light Bars should glow green for 3 seconds.
Step 4: Test Stream Mode
  • Press the round STREAM button on the Command Center.
  • All Light Bars should illuminate white.

A Faulty Cable

Symptoms: A Light Bar does not light up, but the Light Bars connected before it light up as expected.

Step 1: Disconnect Power
  • Unplug the power cable from the Command Center to turn off the system completely.
Step 2: Swap the Cable
  • Swap the coiled cable between the malfunctioning Light Bar and any other cable.

A Faulty Light Bar Input or Output

Symptoms: A Light Bar does not light up, but the Light Bars connected before it light up as expected.

Step 1: Disconnect Power
  • Unplug the power cable from the Command Center to turn off the system completely.
Step 2: Disconnect the Faulty Light Bar
  • Disconnect the cables from both the “IN” and “OUT” connections of the faulty Light Bar.
Step 3: Connect to the Next Light Bar
  • Connect the “OUT” port of the last working Light Bar to the “IN” port of the next Light Bar in the sequence, bypassing the faulty one.
Step 4: Reconnect Power
  • Plug the power cable back into the Command Center to power it on. All Light Bars should glow green for 3 seconds.
Step 5: Test Stream Mode
  • Press the round STREAM button on the Command Center.
  • All Light Bars will illuminate white, except for the bypassed Light Bar.
  • If the Light Bars still do not illuminate, it is most likely a bad Light Bar “OUT” output from the last working Light Bar.
  • If all connected Light Bars work, then the bypassed Light Bar is likely the issue and should be replaced.
  • If the problem persists, then the “OUT” or output from the last working Light Bar is most likely faulty and should be replaced.
