Optimal Audio Settings for Audio Radar

In this article, we'll guide you through optimizing the in-game settings of Counter-Strike for use with Audio Radar. We'll cover the preferred audio settings, step-by-step instructions for configuring Audio Radar, and tips for testing and optimizing your setup.

Counter-Strike 2 is not compatible with Audio Radar.

Currently, the game only uses 3D Stereo audio, with no surround sound options. Because of this, the Audio Radar is severely limited. Only the two top light bars detect sound, allowing the radar to pick up minimal visual cues. CSGO, on the other hand, works amazingly. We hope CS2 will feature more audio options in the future!

Game-Specific Settings

Step 1:
From the main menu, navigate to the 'Game Settings' menu.

Step 2:

Select the 'Audio' option to enter audio settings.

Step 3:

Under ‘Audio,’ set 'Music Volume In Steam Overlay' and ‘GOTV Caster Volume’ to 0. Set the ‘Audio Output Configuration’ to ‘5.1 Surround Sound.’

Step 4:

Scroll down to ‘Music,’ and set ‘Main Menu,’ ‘Round Start,’ ‘Round End,’ ‘Ten Second Warning,’ and ‘Danger Zone Music’ to 0.

Configuring Audio Radar

Adjust Sensitivity: Fine-tune this based on the in-game audio cues you need to react to, like footsteps or gunfire. We recommend a higher sensitivity to identify footsteps more easily.

Testing Tips

Lightbar Patterns: When the bomb is set, it starts to emit a beeping sound, which becomes more rapid as the time to explosion nears. This escalating pace is visually represented on the Lightbars.

Focus on Critical Sounds: As you play, pay attention to the direction of important sounds like footsteps, weapon reloads, and gunfire.

Iterate on Settings: Make incremental changes to your audio settings based on your experience in the practice matches. Notice if certain sounds are too prominent or if others need to be more discernible.
