Only the front (top) light bars are reacting to sound.

If you're experiencing an issue where only the top two light bars of your Audio Radar setup are activating or reacting to sound, this guide will help you diagnose and resolve the problem. We provide a list of possible factors causing the issue to assist you in troubleshooting. If you still have issues after trying these solutions, please reach out to our Support Team for further assistance.

Several factors may be at fault. Follow the checklist below to identify and fix the issue, ensuring that all light bars respond correctly to in-game audio:

  1. Be sure to double check cable connections, ensuring all the coiled cables are fully inserted into the light bar ports.
  2. Check that you have selected 7.1 Surround Sound in the gaming device Audio Settings.
    1. For PC users, reference this guide How To Update Windows 11 to 7.1 Surround Sound for more help with Windows Audio Settings.

    3. For Playstation gamers, read How to Setup Audio Radar with PlayStation 5
  3. Check the In-Game Audio Settings: Some games only use 2.1 stereo sound (ie. Escape of Tarkov). This means that the game audio will only activate the top left & right light bars for any sound in the game. Other games default to stereo sound (ie. Valorant & Apex Legends) but can be updated to 7.1 surround sound in the Sound Settings. For starters, we like to use this PCGamingWiki page as a reference. Check out the Recommended Game Settings section for our game-specific suggestions for the ultimate in-game audio settings.
  4. For PC gamers using headsets or speakers, be sure to download Voicemeeter. Voicemeeter is a free, standalone application for Windows that acts as a virtual mixing console and sound card to process and manage audio signals. It can connect and mix any audio source with any audio application and send it to multiple outputs, like speakers, or headphones, & Audio Radar.
