How to Setup Audio Radar with PlayStation 5

This guide will walk you through the necessary steps to connect and configure your Audio Radar with your PS5, including connecting the hardware, adjusting audio settings, and optimizing the setup for the best performance. Follow these instructions to integrate Audio Radar with your PlayStation 5.   
   

 

Setup Instructions

  1. Connect Your Devices & Power On Audio Radar
    1. Connect your PS5 to the HDMI In port on the Audio Radar Command Center using an HDMI 2.1 cable.
    2. Connect the HDMI Out port from the Command Center to your TV or monitor with another HDMI 2.1 cable.
    3. Plug in the Audio Radar Command Center and turn it on.

      Attention: PS5 Gamers Who Use Party Chat

      PlayStation consoles have a limitation that prevents game audio from being sent to both a gaming headset and Audio Radar simultaneously. You need to choose one output for game audio. However, this does not apply to Astro A50 X headsets, which allow game audio and game chat to go to both the headset and Audio Radar.

  1. Audio Connection Options
    1. Direct Connection: This setup involves wiring a headset directly to Audio Radar using a 3.5 mm jack and connecting it to the Command Center  
      *Note that party chat will not be available with this configuration.
      1. Open Settings and select Sound.
      2. Set Output Device as HDMI Device.
      3. Set HDMI Device Type to AV amplifier and 
      4. Set Number of Channels to 7.1.
         
    2. Wireless Connection: In this configuration, the party chat is managed through the headset only, while game audio is output through HDMI to external speakers or TV.
      1. Open Settings and select Sound.
      2. Set Output Device as your Headset.
      3. Set HDMI Device Type to AV amplifier and Number of Channels to 7.1.
      4. Set Output to Headphones as Voice Chat Audio.
         
    3. No Headset: This setup directs all audio through HDMI to external speakers or TV. 
      1. Open Settings and select Sound.
      2. Set Output Device as HDMI Device.
      3. Set HDMI Device Type to AV Amplifier and Number of Channels to 7.1.
         
    4. Astro A50 X: The Logitech G Astro A50 X LIGHTSPEED Wireless Gaming Headset can be configured to operate smoothly with Audio Radar. This setup ensures that audio is concurrently delivered to both the headset and Audio Radar, enabling the Audio Radar to operate effectively. Here is how to configure this setup:
      1. Follow the regular setup guide for the Astro A50 X.
      2. Switch the PS5 HDMI output from the Astro base station to the Audio Radar HDMI In.
      3. Connect an additional HDMI cord from the Audio Radar's HDMI Out to the Astro base station In.
      4. Restart the console and review settings to ensure everything is configured correctly.
